How We Work

It is not necessarily what we do that is important, but how we do it. We are known for our relentless problem solving, creativity, disciplined execution, and integrity. We believe in simple, effective, and timely communications while we work in partnership with our clients.

 

Our Methodology

 

1. Understand

 

 

We recognize that every client's challenge is different and we don't have a rigid methodology we try to force fit into every client situation. Before telling our clients about Acqua Consulting, we are always much more interested in hearing about our client's organization, the challenges they are facing, and the results they need to achieve.

 

After understanding our client's challenges, required results, and constraints (i.e. time, resources, and scope), we do our homework so we can design a specific approach to confidently and quickly deliver the desired results. Additionally, we also clearly communicate what responsibilities our client has to ensure success.

 

 

2. Initiate

 

Acqua Consulting uses the IDEAL SM Model for this project phase. The Ideal Model is a world-class framework developed by Carnegie Mellon that serves as a roadmap for initiating, planning, and implementing successful projects. While the IDEAL Model was initially developed to guide software development projects, it has broad application and can be used on almost any type of project (see an example).

During the initiate phase, a specific approach to solve our clients' business challenges is developed and is based on several factors including:

  • Business challenges

  • Objectives

  • Specific constraints (time, resources, scope)

  • Project type (strategy, assessment, implementation, ...)

 

We build the specific approach using our experience, collaboration with our network of experts, and practical use of world-class models such as the pragmatic marketing model, the 4P marketing model, CMMI, the 7S model, the Creative Whack Pack, the 5 forces model, the customer satisfaction model, and the business model.

 

3. Execute

For strategy and assessment projects, execution is guided by the Diagnose and Establish phases of the IDEAL Model. 

 

For implementation projects, execution is guided by the Act and Learn phases of the IDEAL Model.

 

4. Close

The project is closed using the criteria established during the initiate phase and by mutual agreement between our Client and Acqua Consulting.
